Temporary Withdrawal of FCC Local Travel Arrangement Services

Message received from FCC on Wednesday 25th March 2020, 10.15am

The UK and Welsh Governments last night announced strict new measures for essential travel, social distancing and public behaviour.

Council services and facilities which would only encourage the public to make non-essential journeys if they were to remain open will be closed with immediate effect.  This will include the withdrawal of the Local Travel Arrangement Services. The LT1, LT2, LT3 ( Holywell) the LT4 ( Buckley), LT7, Mold to Treuddyn and LT8, Caergwrle to Broughton Retail Park.  In addition, it is vital that all residents check individual transport provider’s websites before making any essential travel plans as timetables are being reviewed and reduced on a daily basis.  For residents who are classed as key workers and have no other means of accessing their work place, there will be a pre bookable transport service made available.   Please ring 01352 704771 to make arrangements at least 24 hours before travel.  Residents are reminded that proof of employment may be requested before travel

The Council will comply instantly with all such national directions. More directions might follow. Not to do so would contravene Government guidance. Any services or facilities affected by such announcements will be closed or withdrawn immediately.

All essential Council services are running as normal unless they are listed as being closed or restricted on the Flintshire County Council website;

https://www.flintshire.gov.uk However, the situation is changing quickly.

We appeal for your cooperation and patience.

They are looking to provide support for vulnerable residents in our communities and will send further communications on this in the coming days as well as letters being posted directly to residents.
