Garden Waste Collection Service 2020

Flintshire County Council will be restarting garden waste collections from 2nd March 2020 and collections will be every two weeks, on alternate weeks to black bin collections.  The collection service will run up until 13th December 2020.

To check your collection day, residents can visit the Flintshire website at: https://digital.flintshire.gov.uk/FCC_BinDay

Attached is an overview guide, detailing the new charges, collection service and information about the permit packs.  This guide has been issued to the Contact Centre, Customer Services, Connects Centres and all operational staff..

They have started to issue the permit packs for the garden waste collection service for 2020. All the information will be going out in English and in Welsh.  Essentially, each pack will contain the following: -

  • Covering letter to residents

  • Leaflet with the Terms and Conditions

  • Privacy Notice

  • Yellow Tag with the FCC logo and unique serial number

This year, the are moving to a tag system instead of a sticker for the brown bins.  The tags are yellow in colour and show the Flintshire “F” logo and a unique serial number.  The tags will be sent directly to residents along with instructions of how to attach the tag to the brown bins.  The tags must be fixed to the handle of the brown bin and be clearly visible to the collection crew, otherwise they may not be collected.

Importantly, the tags are made from 100% recyclable polypropylene, which can be recycled with the normal household plastic recycling at the end of the year or if they are no longer required.
