Highlights from the Community Council Meeting March 2025

  • Works have started but there have been slight delays with the play area improvements at Dobshill and the Millstone due to weather and sourcing the aggregate.

  • Community Drop In Events. A FCC Officer will be attending March to talk about the 3 weekly bin collections:

    • Wednesday 19 March 7.00pm - 8.30pm Royal British Legion

    • Saturday 12 April 11.00am - 12.30pm War Memorial Institute

  • Planning permission has been approved for the council to install a new noticeboard on the corner of Alyn Drive/Vounog, this will be installed in the coming months.

  • West View Nature Area will be entered into this year’s Wales in Bloom.

  • Refurbishment works and contractors have been approved for works at the millennium clock and garden.

  • The council have agreed in principle to take on the land lease for the Millstone Allotments and community garden.

  • It has been agreed to explore options on how the council can improve the welsh language within our community e.g offering information where possible bilingually.

  • The council will be requesting a stall for this year’s carnival together with a separate stall for Woodwork to promote West View Nature Area.

  • We are looking to work with Sandra Donoghue FCC - Ageing Well Engagement Officer to provide free computer training for our older residents.  It is a 10 week digital training course, with a minimum of 6 attendees, and tablets will be loaned to the attendees.
