Initial consultation Wednesday 25 January – Tuesday 21 February 2023

We are consulting on plans to install carbon capture technology at our Padeswood cement works – the UK’s first net zero cement facility. Our plans are a stepping-stone to decarbonising the construction industry and we are proud to bring forward a global exemplar project.

Once completed, the new facility will:

Capture 800,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The equivalent of taking 320,000 cars off the road

Protect 222 and create 54 new jobs

Help put north Wales at the forefront of net zero

This is an integral part of HyNet, the UK’s leading industrial decarbonisation project.

The upcoming consultation will provide you with additional opportunities to speak to the project team, ask any questions you may have, and give feedback on our plans.

As part of this, we are holding a series of in-person events and webinars.
