Castell Alun Post 16 School Transport

“ Flintshire County Council have recently re introduced a commercial bus service from Mold to Wrexham via Buckley, Penyffordd, Hope, Caergwrle and Wrexham Maelor Hospital with the inclusion of a school journey to make the service viable.  It was decided not to commence the school journey until Monday the 27th of January to allow opportunity for teething issues to be identified before pupils started using the service and parents of all pupils were advised of these changes.   The present timetable allows 40 minutes for the journey time end to end.  However,  Area Transport Officer, Sarah Blake has confirmed that this is not sufficient and causing a delay throughout the day.  She has confirmed this  is being addressed as a matter of urgency and that the timetable will be revised and implemented as soon as possible.  The timetable revision will include an earlier start time from Mold Bus Station to allow sufficient time to get through the early morning traffic delays around Hope and allow the service to run on time for the remainder of the day.   New Timetables will be publicised on the Flintshire County Council website and parents of all pupils affected will receive a new timetable by post. “
