New Bus Timetables

Update - 20/01/2020

The Council are aware that Flintshire County Council have had to make slight necessary amendments to the timetables. This is a new service through Flintshire and there have been a few teething problems.

Sarah Blake, FCC Transport has explained the reasoning behind having to change the timetables is that the bus provider will incur fines from the Traffic Commission if they leave a registered bus stop either 1 minute early or 5 minutes late (these fines can be thousands of pounds).

With regard to the Service 29 we have been advised that the route the service takes through our village is:

Dobshill Roundabout

St Johns Church

Penymynydd Road – at the moment this is a requested stop service, which means you can flag the bus down anywhere on this road and the bus will stop

Millstone

Watts Road

Meadow Rise

Platts Lane

You may already be aware that Arriva are discontinuing the No 13 to Mold and Chester in January. Community Council David Walker has been working with affected residents and Flintshire County Council (who have been brilliantly supportive) to provide alternative public transport arrangements.

The result is two new services.

The No.29 is similar to the old 28 service and will connect us with Mold and Wrexham, including the hospital.

There will no longer be a direct service to Chester. Flintshire County Council are providing a service to link communities from Caergwrle to Broughton where the Arriva service will be operating more frequently. It is vitally important that we make use of the service to make sure that we keep it.

David and the Community Council are continuing to lobby for improved bus services for our community and we are grateful for the support of residents in demonstrating the need and the demand.

You can download printable versions of the timetables here. Details of the Arriva services from Broughton are available on the Arriva Website.
