Melwood Close Play Area
The Community Council are currently considering investing in improving the play facilities on the Melwood Close play area in Penymynydd.
We are interested in understanding the views of residents who live around the locality and also parents in Penymynydd about what they need for their children.
Currently there is a substantial and well used play area run and maintained by the Community Council at the Millstone. There are two new play areas at the White Lion (maintained by Redrow) and the Groves (yet to be adopted by Flintshire County Council).
There are other smaller play areas off Ffordd Derwyn (Rhos Road), Min Y Dol (Meadowslea) and West View. These are maintained by Flintshire County Council, apart from the Meadowslea.
The latest planning applications approved had different solutions for play provision - Rhos Road will extend the current play area at Ffordd Derwyn. The Hawarden Road plan includes a new play area in the centre of the development.
The questions are:
Do you use Melwood Close play area?
Would you use it more if there was better play equipment?
Would you use it more if the land had better drainage?
Do you like having more smaller play areas or do you think we are better with the larger play centres at Millstone, Groves and White Lion?
Please let us have you comments and views - you can comment on Facebook, email team@penyfforddcommunity.org or use our contact form if you prefer.
We welcome comments from everyone and we will be inviting comments at the next village meeting on the 18th April.
Thank you
